Table Saw and Miter Saw

Today was a day dedicated to observing and experimenting with a couple of machines. Everyone received a turn to practice using the table saw and miter saw in our Makerspace. Before this class, I did not know how to use either of these tools. To see how both tools functioned was riveting. While operating the machines, I noted on all safety requirements down to the obvious, such as keeping fingers a safe distance away from the blade. Each student shaved a strip of wood from the stock. Doing this was surprisingly easier than I had expected. With this newly developed skill, I have began forming ideas for future projects.
